Frequently asked questions

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 3:00pm and check-out is by 11:00am. Thanks to keyless smart-lock entry, you can arrive any time that suits you — no waiting and no key handovers. Early check-in or late check-out can often be arranged on request.

Is the cottage suitable for families and dogs?

Absolutely. We welcome up to 6 guests and two well-behaved dogs. A travel cot, high chair, stair gates and a basket of toys are all provided, and the enclosed grounds are safe for children and pets to roam.

What is your cancellation policy?

Free cancellation up to 30 days before arrival for a full refund. Cancel within 30 days and we'll refund 50%, excluding the cleaning fee. There are never any hidden booking fees.

How do I get there, and is parking available?

We're a scenic 25-minute drive from Windermere and around 90 minutes from Manchester. Free private parking for two cars is on-site, including an EV fast charger. Full directions and a digital welcome guide are sent after booking.

Is the lake safe for swimming and kayaking?

Yes — the private shoreline is calm, clean and gently shelving, ideal for wild swimming. Two kayaks, a rowing boat, life jackets for all sizes and a safety briefing are included with your stay.

What's the minimum stay?

A 2-night minimum applies for most dates, rising to 3 nights over weekends and 5–7 nights during peak summer and the festive season. The calendar above always shows live availability.
